A managed server is compute capacity with somebody looking after it, hosted in Germany under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). At KDM Server your virtual machines run on a Proxmox cluster in Germany. Daily backups, monitoring around the clock and separate network rules per customer are included in the price. For a surcharge we take over system updates, certificates and the response to incidents within agreed times.

The “Managed” option — what changes with it
Without the option you get compute, backup and monitoring; updates and certificates stay with you. With the option we take over running the system: security updates in an agreed window, certificates, backup verification and response to incidents under the service level.

Dedicated servers and clusters
When a virtual server is not enough, or regulation requires dedicated hardware, we provide a machine for you alone: own disks, own memory, no neighbours. Operations, backup and monitoring work as they do for cloud servers — from €189 a month.
If operations must not stop even when hardware fails, we build a cluster of at least two nodes with automatic failover; backups sit on a separate node. From €690 a month, sized against your numbers.

What we work with
Proxmox VE, Debian and Ubuntu, Proxmox Backup Server, Zabbix, nginx, WireGuard. We use what solves your problem — we are not tied to a vendor.
Frequent questions
How quickly is a server available?
Virtual servers are ready within one working day of order confirmation. Dedicated and AI servers by arrangement.
Can it be expanded later?
Yes, memory and disk grow without downtime, and the invoice is adjusted pro rata.
What happens when hardware fails?
The cluster redistributes the load and the machines start on another node. Backups sit separately on a dedicated backup server.
Is there a minimum term?
No, monthly. For dedicated servers the term of the respective hardware applies.
Do we get administrator rights?
Yes. For managed systems we agree in advance what you change yourself and what runs through us.
Can you invoice a company outside Germany?
Yes. Invoices are issued by W&K Connect GmbH in euro; for EU businesses with a valid VAT ID the reverse-charge procedure applies, so no German VAT is charged.
