A private AI server is a machine that sits on your premises and runs a language model locally, without asking an external provider. Documents, e-mail and calculations never leave your network. KDM Server delivers it configured: the model, access to your documents, and assistants for concrete tasks — checking incoming invoices, drafting quotes, answering internal questions. Six steps by headcount, three ways to get there: buy it finished, rent it, or build it yourself to our specification.
How it is built
The data does not leave the building — physically
The machine stands with you. Your staff reach it through the browser, it reads your documents and answers. Nothing flows outward: an internet connection is not required and can be disconnected entirely if you want it that way.
Updates to models and assistants arrive as a signed package — through a maintenance window, or on physical media if the network is to stay closed.

How a rollout runs
- SizingYou answer six questions in the calculator or in conversation: how many people, what the system must do, how many documents. You get the step and the price — with no contact form.
- ConfirmationWe sharpen the tasks and show on a demonstration machine what it can and cannot do. Acceptance criteria are fixed against your own documents.
- Delivery and setupWe assemble it, install model and assistants, connect your documents. The machine arrives ready to work.
- Acceptance and trainingWe run your real documents against the agreed criteria. We train your staff — this supports your own obligation on AI literacy under Article 4 of the EU AI Act.
- MaintenanceUpdates to models and assistants, monitoring, support. A replacement machine for the repair period can be agreed in the maintenance contract.
Assistants
What “prepared” actually means
We do not hand over hardware with a model on it. We hand over configured assistants with rights and limits: each has its role, sees only the documents it is cleared for, and decides nothing where money, contracts or people are involved.
An assistant always identifies itself as a machine — Article 50 of the EU AI Act requires it. Employee scoring and emotion recognition we do not supply at all.

The licences of every component were checked against the original texts on 13 September 2026. No model requires attribution in the interface.
Honest about the limits
What a local model cannot do
Search the open internet (there is none), know today’s news, or replace a lawyer or tax adviser. For work with your own documents — searching, summarising, drafting, checking — it is normally enough.
Whether it is cheaper than the cloud
In most cases no, and we do not promise it. Owning hardware pays off only at very high request volumes. People buy it for a different reason: the data stays in the building and the cost is predictable.
How fast it answers
That depends on the step, the model and the number of concurrent users. We quote concrete numbers after measuring on the machine, not from a manufacturer’s brochure.
What happens if it breaks
Under the maintenance contract: repair and restore from your backup, with a replacement machine on request. When you buy through us, claims for defects run for 36 months from delivery by contract.
Frequent questions
Does it really run without internet?
Yes. Updates are applied as a signed package when you want them; a permanent connection is not required.
Who owns the machine?
If you buy it, you do. If you rent it, we do — and you can switch to purchase at any time.
Why no Chinese models?
It is a matter of principle: for customers in the EU we assemble the software stack exclusively from components of the USA and the EU, so that neither licensing nor origin raises questions later.
Can you do this on our own hardware?
Yes — the service “setup on your hardware” starts at €3,900. Or we supply the build specification from €1,490, credited in full against an order placed with us.
Do you deliver outside Germany?
Yes, across the EU. Invoices are issued by W&K Connect GmbH in euro, net of VAT; for businesses with a valid VAT ID the reverse-charge procedure applies. Delivery and on-site setup are quoted per country.
